$27,000 in fines for what?!

Click on this link to read an article about a North Port single mother who has accumulated $27,000 in fines for allowing an unlicensed car to remain in her driveway.  She may now lose her home.  Others have incurred even larger fines for similar offenses.  Is this an example of an dichotomy between the law and ethics?

  1. That is a bit ridiculous. North Port reminds me of some crazy neighbor who keeps calling the cops if you leave the grass too long. How are those thousands of dollars in fines going to help the appearance of the city if no one can afford to stay in their own homes, and it becomes a ghost town? What is the point for a city to sue people with practically no money?
