Click on this link to read a story about an abandoned house that Detroit artists have turned into an "ice house" in order to make a point about the housing crisis and foreclosures. Do you think this is an effective means of raising consciousness? Are anyone's rights being violated?
I would imagine this would compromised the integrity of the house. I don't really think that the roof could hold that much weight. Granted Ice is less dense than water therefore lighter but its only slightly lighter in weight.
Without reinforcing inside the house, it would be dangerous to cover a home like that in ice.
